Listing 101

Those looking to find Women-Owned Businesses across the Caribbean can easily find what they are looking for, using various search and filter options, such as Categories, Address, Region, and more.

We encourage Listing owners to fill out their Listings as completely as possible, in order to extend their customer reach.

Listing owners can provide various details to help users of our platform make better-informed decisions.

The following details are available to all Listing owners.

  • Tagline
  • About
  • Business Type (Online/Physical)
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Website (if applicable)
  • Social Media Profiles
  • Image Gallery
  • Video Linking
  • Address (Map/Driving Directions)
  • Open Hours
  • Related Listings

All Listings include a built-in contact form so people always have an easy way to reach out to Listing owners.

The email address used when signing up for the platform will be used as the default recipient address, but this can be changed at any time, by editing your account details.

Listing owners can have their address shown for quick reference.

Additionally, that location will be shown on a map, providing quick access to directions for users.

Listing owners can build up their reputation by accumulating positive ratings and reviews.

That said, everyone has to start somewhere and may not have their reputation built up.

Ratings and Reviews are always moderated and can only be submitted by registered users of the platform.

To help people easily reach Listing owners and to help get Listings found in search engines, NAP (Name, Address, and Phone Number) is critical information to include in a Listing.

While including a Name (i.e. Listing Title) is a given, Listings can contain the following information, in an actionable format (ex. click-to-call) where possible, to make things even more convenient for users of the platform.

• Website
• Address

Links to Social Networks can be added to Listings.

When a link is added the name of the network and the corresponding icon is automatically added.

If someone chooses to click on one of the Social Networks, that network’s website will open in a new browser tab, so users can stay on the Listing.

Listing owners can include a link to one of their online videos (e.g. YouTube), which in turn embeds the video into their Listing.

Listing owners are able to link directly to their own website from their Listing.

This allows Listings to get even more exposure and increase the likelihood of visitors running through your own sales funnel.

Image Galleries are essential for showcasing products, services, and more.

Up to 6 images can be uploaded to your gallery.

Use your company’s business logo with the size 160px x 160 to help draw attention to and make your brand easily identifiable.

If you do not have a logo, upload a 160px x 160px image with a white background and your business name written in the centre.

Upload an image here that represents your business, brand, products or services. This will servce as the cover image of your listing so it is important for your images to be high-quality.

For best results, upload an image that is:

• – 600KB or smaller
• 1980 x 1020 pixels
• And has a landscape orientation (i.e. wider than taller).

Image Galleries are essential for showcasing products, services, and more.

Up to 6 images can be uploaded to your gallery.

This is a required field.

The “name” field is required and allows the woman entrepreneur behind the business listing to be highlighted. This will be displayed under the “Contact and Media” tab.

This will be shown on your Listing under the “Contact and Media” tab and will also provide click-to-email functionality for users.

Tip: Listing a phone number accurately and consistently across all online platforms is critical for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Enter a link to your website, with the “https://” portion.

Providing links to Social Networks can improve your overall online presence and increase engagement.

This is an optional field.

Let people know when an establishment is open for business, when services can be rendered, etc.

This is a required field.

Selecting the correct region can be critical to the success of presenting your Listing throughout the website (e.g. Regional pages – under development) and having it show up accurately in search results.

Our directory is currently limited to Caribbean Countries, Guyana and Suriname.

If you would like to get started by adding your region, please let us know  and we will consider adding it to the platform in future.

This will provide driving directions for users who click the map in your listing.

If your business is solely online or you do not want to show your address, input the general neighbourhood/city your business operates from.

You can also use the Zoom In/Out map feature and place the pin on your location.

Select the category that best describe the industry your business operates in.

If your business falls in multiple industries, select the next best category. Strive to limit this to 3 categories maximum.
